Welcome to the Scotch & Sirloin, your host and general manager Sonny Glennon - 1991.

(Wichita, KS) – When Wichitans Glenn Rupe and Delmar & Rose Kuhlman opened the doors of Scotch & Sirloin in November of 1968, they opened them with a bold mission: To provide a fine dining experience with a commitment to tradition and superior quality. Today, anticipating the Scotch’s 40th Anniversary, General Manager Sonny Glennon says the Scotch & Sirloin customers have made the restaurant a Wichita icon.

Glennon says the anniversary is not only a way to celebrate the long history but a way for Scotch aficionados to come together, “We are celebrating quite a milestone and the anniversary is a great way to bring everyone together.” The restaurant holds memories of meals with loved ones, business deals that change people’s lives, prom dinners and reminisces about the Scotch experience. In celebration of the anniversary, Wichitans will be invited to record their experiences at the Scotch in an online memory book on www.scotchandsirloin.net. There, they can also post pictures from their significant events.

Scotch & Sirloin will launch a week-long anniversary celebration, starting on September 14, 2009 with the Scotch & Sirloin Restaurant Benefit Golf Tournament. The week will feature events such as:

  • Monday-Golf Tournament followed by award ceremony dinner and cigar night at Scotch & Sirloin.

Scotch & Sirloin, famous for its prime rib, “Gastropub” atmosphere, and rich tradition, has been privately owned and run since its induction into the restaurant world 40 years ago. Scotch & Sirloin is a place to enjoy a premium dining experience, and is also a popular restaurant for business lunches, banquet occasions and savoring an after-work cocktail.

The Scotch is a four-time winner of the Beef Backer Award from the Kansas Beef Council. The award is presented to recognize the restaurant’s dedication to serving Sterling Silver Certified Premium USDA Choice Beef and merchandising the beef. The premium beef is not the only well-liked food item served at the Scotch. They are also renowned for lobster, poultry and many other seafood items.

All beef that is served at the Scotch is Sterling Silver and hand cut by Bill Buetow at S&S Meats, located across the lot from the Scotch. The prime rib is aged for 30 days to give it the finest quality taste once prepared and served at the Scotch or for customers who come to the store and buy the beef. Having superior marbling is also a key aspect to a high-quality cut of meat. Alongside the beef, fresh pork and homemade sausages are offered at S&S Meats.
