While we are known for Steaks and Great Seafood Specials, our solid foundation for a one-of-a-kind dining experience is enhanced through our seemingly endless wine list. Have you seen it?
Upon entering the restaurant, you will immediately notice our wine cellar and wine wall, as it is the focal point of the whole restaurant. The 1,100 bottle, temperature-controlled wine cellar separates the entrance from the lounge, while the impressive 400 bottle wine wall separates the main dining room and the bar, giving our patrons something exquisite to look at, all the while giving our bar patrons privacy. Our wine cellar is completely enclosed in glass, and an impressive physical representation of our focus and commitment to the marriage of superb wines and delectable foods.
Our Starting Wines
We have an extensive wine list with more than 200 labels from across the world. Being an American Steakhouse the majority of our selections hail from the U.S. wineries in California, Washington, and Oregon.
With our sizable inventory, our philosophy is to offer our guests excellent value and quality at all price points. We also offer a variety of selections from some of the finest producers of France, Italy, Spain, Australia, and South America.
We continually strive for the staff to increase their knowledge base. This commitment is realized with the help from our in House Sommelier. Our Staff’s knowledge of wine continues to deepen each month. Every Month our entire staff meets to learn about the wines served at our restaurant. Each meeting consists of tastings, expanding everyone’s knowledge of not only our wine list but regional and AVA characteristics. We focus on one or two specific wine making regions of the world and the specific varietals grown there; the climate, soil, characteristics and stylistic differences.
Choosing Which Way to Go
Cabernet and Cabernet based blends are our most popular wines. We offer several recognizable brands such as Jordan, Caymus, and Silver Oak. Some of our guests’ are favorites 16 X 20 from Napa Valley, Stag’s Leap” Artemis” and Joseph Phelps “Insigna”. A couple of our personal favorites to sell are, Hidden Ridge From Sonoma, Haras de Pirque “Hussonet”, and Adaptation from Napa Valley.
Pinot Noir is the second most requested type of wine we serve. BelleGlos, “Las Alturas,” from Monterrey County is a wonderful choice. If your looking for a more earthly, old World wine Domaine Serrigny “Rouge” is an excellent choice. Paul Hobbs and Gary Farrell are pinot fan favorites from the Russian River Valley.
While Whites aren’t as popular here at Scotch & Sirloin, Cakebread Chardonnay does very well here as well as Rombauer. Closerie de Alisers Chablis Vieilles Vignes from Burgundy, France is another popular options when looking for white wine.
